The wrestler of the week award goes to a wrestler who not only performs well in our matches and tournaments, but in the wrestling room as well.

Novice Wrestlers of the Week

This week we have chosen two wrestlers of the week from our Novice Division: Charlie Hooey and Brandon Falotico.


Charlie Hooey

Awarded: 2/1/2012

Charlie continues to get better in his 2nd year with the Pride. He recentely competed in his first novice tournament and earned a 3rd place finish.

Great job, Charlie and keep up all your hard work!



Brandon Falotico

Awarded: 2/1/2012

Brandon has worked hard all season and continues to improve each time he steps on the mat. His hard work has proven to be an example for other wrestlers on the team. In addition, Brandon regularly attends Basement Boyz and Action Fitness Club classes to improve his skills and endurance.

Great job, Brandon and good luck in the NJ state qualifiers!

      Kyle continues to improve each week by not only attending regular novice practices, but also Basement Boyz and Action Fitness Club classes. Kyle recently accumulated 40 tournament wins with a 2nd place finish at the Randolph state qualifier.

    • Logan Rozynski

      Awarded: 1/18/2012

      Logan has proved himself to be a great example for the rest of his team. He is constantly improving and continues to be one of the hardest working kids in The Room. On January 14th, Logan stepped up and wrestled in the varsity lineup at the Constantine Tournament. The following day he finished 1st Place at the Mt. Olive Tournament.

    • Jack Cisko

      Jack displays a high level of enthusiasm for the sport of wrestling. By constantly working hard to better himself on the mat, we see his improvements on a daily basis. He always acts like a champion on and off the mat, and does not allow the disappointment of lost matches to bring him down. We see great things in Jack's future and it is a pleasure having him on our team. Congratulations Jack!

      Luke has proven to be very diligent and attentive in his wrestling. He values the advice of his coaches and always listens to their tips and instructions.

    • Connor White

      Awarded: 12/21/2011

      Connor's first wrestling event was the Warwick Valley Team Tournament this past Sunday, Dec 18, 2011. Although this was the first time he wrestled, he did not allow his inexperience to hinder his success and placed third in the tournament. Connor continues to perform well in both the practice room and matches. Congratulations Connor!

    • Shane Hoover

      Awarded: 12/14/2011
      This week we have chosen Shane for this award. Shane has shown a high level of dedication and enthusiasm for wrestling. Shane's first wrestling match was the Hopatcong Jamboree. Naturally, he was extremely nervous, but his desire to wrestle continued to grow. He attends all of the practices, always seeks advice from his coaches and follows their training.

      We see great things in Shane's future as he continues to improve on a daily basis. Congratulations Shane!

      • Colin Neal


        This week, we have chosen Colin for this award. Colin has been one of our most improved wrestlers this season due to his high level of participation and dedication. He has attended all of the novice practices and has participated in some varsity practices after his novice practices. In addition, Colin attends Action Fitness/Basement Boyz classes to improve his skills even further.

        At Sparta Pride, we believe it is important to have a balanced schedule and encourage our wrestlers to focus their skills on education as well as wrestling. Colin has shown a great balance between education and wrestling this season. We are proud to have him on our team; he has proven himself to be a good role model for other novice wrestlers!
